D A Giles Ltd (formerly D A Giles Surfacing Contractor) is an established contractor based in Cornwall with over 35 years’ experience in the construction industry. The company became limited in February 2008.
The business has delivered a wide range of projects across the South West and maintains an extensive client portfolio that includes major contractors and local government bodies.
Our skilled workforce covers all aspects of construction activity, supported by specialist asphalt surfacing, paving and lining divisions. A dedicated management team provides ongoing coordination and site support from our offices near Helston.
D A Giles Ltd has an annual turnover exceeding £10 million and undertakes a broad spectrum of contracts, with project values reaching over £1 million.

We regularly deliver smaller schemes as well as larger projects and take pride in our ability to mobilise projects with minimal lead times. Strong, long-standing relationships with both local and national contractors further reinforce our reputation for reliability and quality delivery.

The management team, headed by Lee Graham, are responsible for providing support to the site team. Darren Umscheid, Ross Gilbert, Jake Cloke, and Martin Michell the supervisors provide a link between Lee and operatives on site. All commercial matters are dealt with by Lee Graham and John Davidson.
The Office Manager and Administration staff are responsible for the smooth running of the offices and their duties include accounts, invoicing, purchase ledger, administrative duties, notification of streetworks and administration of reinstatement contracts and support for Senior Management.
Our operations are split into 3 main disciplines:
1. REINSTATEMENT OPERATIONS:
We have four dedicated gangs carrying out reinstatement works. Depending on workload resources can be moved from our other divisions if required. This provides the client with a flexible service capable of dealing with fluctuations in workload.
2. CONTRACT SURFACING:
These operations cover schemes ranging from small domestic driveways right up to major road and car park projects. We have two paving machines serviced by experienced surfacing gangs, who are capable of both hand and machine lay operations to a high standard. Not forgetting decorative surfacing options such as resin bound available in a multitude of aggregate colour / type finishes.
3. CIVIL WORKS:
We have a capability to carry out most areas of groundwork, including bulk excavation, drainage, kerbs and concrete works. In addition we have a skilled paving gang which can carry out block paving, PCC slabs and sett works for example.
